Calvin published the first edition of his Institutio Christianae Religionis or Institutes of the Christian Religion in 1536. The work is an apologia or a defense of the Reformed faith and a statement of the doctrinal creed of the Protestants.

Work is underway to place online this rare and historic work in the original Italian of Giulio Cesare Paschali, who fled Italy to translate and publish John Calvin’s invaluable book, Institutes of the Christian Religion.
